The Importance of Aftercare Products

There are a lot of questions about sulphate free shampoos. Which ones are good? Which ones to use? Which ones are best for caring for my hair? Well…

The answer is easy! Cocochoco Aftercare products, including shampoos, conditioners, hair masks, serums and leave-in creams, have all been designed to support Cocochoco Keratin and Botox treatments, and they are the only products that we recommend using following your Cocochoco treatment. All of our products are SLS-free, so the results of your Cocochoco treatment should last between 12 and 16 weeks. For more information on what SLS is, check out our blog post.

Cocochoco aftercare might appear to be expensive, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Cocochoco products are highly concentrated and last for a long period of time. On average, they last as long as 3 regular bottles of shampoos. Also, proper aftercare really prolongs the treatment and effects last approximately 30% longer. However, it is important to remember that sulphate free shampoos don’t lather as well as regular shampoos, but that doesn’t mean that you need to use more of it. Less is actually more with Cocochoco!

Other sulphate free shampoos have not been tested as aftercare for Cocochoco Keratin or Botox treatments, so we can’t say if they support your Cocochoco treatment or not. Some sulfate-free shampoos may contain other ingredients which replace the foaming and cleansing properties of SLS, which are also not suitable for aftercare of Cocochoco, because they can wash the keratin coating from your hair very quickly. 2-3 weeks of washing with other sulfate-free shampoos and your hair could be frizzy and curly again. Getting Keratin treatment done and using cheap aftercare is like buying a beautiful white dress and washing it with red socks!!

Advice for Stylists

Registering for a trade account on our website gives you a 10% on every order, forever! We also have a mix-and-match offer on our sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner range, which gives you 10 bottles of shampoo and/or conditioner of your choice. This is a great offer for salons own use, or salons who wish to stock the recommended after care products for their own customers.

One mistake people make is instead of buying sulphate-free shampoos, they buy Keratin shampoos. Keratin shampoos are full of sulphates, and are not recommended after having a Cocochoco treatment done, as they will have the opposite effect than the one your client wants. As a stylist, you should always recommend the best aftercare for your clients so that they get the best results from your treatments. The best aftercare for Cocochoco is without doubt the Cocochoco Aftercare range. With Cocochoco, the effects of your treatment are prolonged and their hair is kept nourished and healthy between visits to the salon. Your clients are not professionals though, so they often don’t see the difference between Sulfate-free, SLS or SLES (for the differences between SLS and SLES, check out our blog post), so be sure to explain why Cocochoco aftercare is the best for them. But, if your clients choose not to follow the advice that you give, you cannot be held responsible for the outcomes. Not following manufacturer requirements can also void the insurance, and product warranty.
